FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Haven, CT — The New Haven Chorale is proud to announce the appointment of Reagan G. Paras as its next Artistic Director, ushering in an exciting new chapter in the organization’s celebrated musical legacy.

Following a highly competitive search process that attracted an exceptional pool of musicians and conductors from across the greater New England region, Paras emerged as the clear choice for the Chorale’s future. His dynamic artistry, innovative programming vision, and commitment to creating meaningful musical experiences distinguished him throughout the process.

Reagan G. Paras currently serves as Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Advanced Choral Conducting, Choral Rehearsal Techniques, and Choral Literature, while also conducting the Berklee Concert Chorus.

A passionate conductor, singer, and educator, Paras has led performance tours throughout the United States and internationally. Most recently, he conducted a European Performance Tour through the Czech Republic, Austria, and Hungary. He also serves as Artistic Director for Many Voices: Mechanics Hall Youth Singers, where he champions repertoire that authentically honors the diverse cultures represented within the ensemble. In addition, he is Music Director of The Salisbury Singers, one of Massachusetts’ premier choral ensembles.

During the summer months, Paras conducts the Kodály Music Institute Choir, comprised of music educators from around the world. He was also selected, following a nationwide search, to represent the United States as a Conducting Fellow for the American Choral Directors Association’s International Choral Exchange Program to the Philippines. Widely respected for his artistry and leadership, Paras is a frequent guest conductor for honor choirs nationwide.

An advocate for music education and the choral arts, Paras serves on several executive boards for music organizations throughout the Northeast and was honored with election as President of the Massachusetts chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).

Paras shared his excitement about joining the New Haven Chorale community:

“I am thrilled to be working with the New Haven Chorale next season. After our brief time together, I am incredibly excited about what we can accomplish as a team. This organization has a remarkable history of musical excellence. I look forward to making music with this amazing group of singers to honor that legacy and inspire our next chapter of growth.”

Kevin Buno, President of the New Haven Chorale Board of Directors, expressed his enthusiasm for the organization’s future under Paras’s leadership:

“I am enthusiastic about Reagan carrying forward the rich musical legacy of our organization. His leadership will strengthen existing relationships and forge new connections throughout the greater New Haven community. His expertise will provide accessible opportunities for our singers to further develop their technique and engage with a broad and meaningful repertoire, while his artistic vision will continue to honor the excellence that has defined the New Haven Chorale for generations. We are excited to begin our work with Reagan in the coming weeks.”
