Caroling at the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital on Christmas morning has been a New Haven Chorale tradition for nearly 35 years. Members of all faiths dedicate their holiday to bringing joy to parents, children and hospital staff who can’t be home on this special day.
Annual halloween concert
A fun, costumed, family-friendly New Haven tradition, the annual Halloween concert at Trinity Church on the Green introduces kids of all ages to all kinds of choral music and lets the young ones try their hands at conducting!
student singers
Nurturing young chorists has always been an important pillar of the Chorale’s work. The Student Singer Program is a partnership which has provided musical performance opportunities to more than seventy Connecticut high school, undergraduate and graduate students since its inception in 1990.
school partnerships
Whether they join us–as a supplemental choir for a performance–or we join them–by visiting schools for a face-to-face workshop, children play an important role in the work of the Chorale. We champion early interest in music, hoping to inspire the same life-long passion that inspires us.
ensemble outreach
Members of the Chorale often perform for organizations in the Greater New Haven area, from Chamber of Commerce functions to retirement homes, as they did at Evergreen Woods in Branford in 2019.
an arts mentor and shaker
The Chorale was honored to receive the Arts Council of Greater New Haven’s 2007 Annual Arts Award for being a “mentor and shaker” in the New Haven Arts community.
